This Saturday, May 3rd is our annual White Cane Day. We will have hard working dedicated volunteers set up at various locations to answer questions and collect donations to help with this annual event. The importance of using a white cane for visually impaired was the inspiration of the President of the Peoria IL Lions Club back in 1930. President Johnson made it an annual event nationwide in 1964. We celebrate it the first Saturday in May as the weather is fair. Our club has been helping with this event since the 90's. The monies donated go directly to the Sight and Hearing Foundation to help people with glasses etc. Find our volunteers 9-4 at Rathdrum Ace Hardware and Millers in Spirit Lake. From 9-2 we are at Rathdrum Trading Post.
